It’s over, we did it. The regular season is finally over.

Russell Westbrook MVP 2017

Giannis Antetokounmpo became the first player in NBA history to be in the top 20 in all major stats (points 14th, rebounds 15th, assists 18th, steals 9th, blocks 5th).

Paul Pierce moved up to 15th all-time scoring in his final regular season game.

Pao Gasol entered the 20,000 career point club.

Karl Anthony Towns became the Minnesota Timberwolves franchise single season scoring leader with 2,033 points (he is still only 21 years old).

The Lakers entered a new low of tanking by allowing Metta World Peace playing big minutes and shooting 10 three pointers.

11-30, 30-11

The Heat were 11-30 in the first 41 games of the season. In the final 41 games of the season they went 30-11. That 41-41 record was not enough to make the playoffs but that is a hell of a turn around, in fact the largest turn around in NBA history. They were 19 games under .500 and ended the season with an even win and loss record.

Similar to this weekly posts that I write, the Cavs stumbled their way to the end of the season. They lost the 1st seed to the Celtics and almost lost the 2nd seed to the Raptors. Every time a LeBron led team entered the playoffs with a 2 seed it has made the finals.

Tony Romo

After announcing his departure of the NFL (has yet to file his retirement papers) Mark Cuban brought Tony Romo to the Dallas Mavericks. Romo was dressed and partook in shoot around sitting at the end of the bench during the game. Cuban and Carlisle wanted to put Romo in the game but the idea was shot down by commissioner Adam Silver.

That’s it. The regular season is over. Petering towards the finish line but this was a short week. I am ready to watch meaningful NBA games for the first time in 10 months.
